Amenhotep III greatly known by the Colossi of Memnon
Amenhotep III, this 18th Dynasty pharaoh was associated to a great period of prosperity, that Ancient Egyptians honored him as a God of Fertility and prosperity through Pharaonic Times. Although that Amenhotep III contributed to the Karnak temple Complex, as well, he also made his own Funerary Complex, which at the Time was a competition to Karnak. The entrance to Amenhotep III Funerary Complex is where today are the Colossi of Memnon, which are statues that were made to honor Amenhotep III as God Osiris. Coincidence or mal-intentional this marvelous Temple Complex was totally destroyed by a River Nile Flood.
